The Master Teacher. During 2002-2003, Wesley published a series of articles for the Technology Pathfinder for Administrators, a national publication of The Master Teacher. Wesley served as part of a nationwide writing team in these efforts. Wesley contributed articles and tips for “NorthStar for Principals” and “The Technology Pathfinder for Teachers,” which were other regular, national publications of The Master Teacher, from Fall 2002 – 2006. Technology Pathfinder publications are not available online.

I am an aspiring digital storyteller. I have developed my videography skills through both personal projects (not linked here), professional projects, and formal instructional training workshops. I have presented three TEDx presentations to date:”Technology Fear Therapy” at the University of Central Oklahoma on March 25, 2021 (not yet published on YouTube,) “Digital Citizenship in our Surveillance State” at TEDxWallerMiddleSchool on 19 November 2016, and “Becoming Your Family’s Digital Witness” at TEDxOU on 25 January 2013.
My other video and digital storytelling projects and milestones include:
- My YouTube channel is youtube.com/wfryer. As of 16 November 2023, I have published over 1,100 videos on this channel. I have 2,343 subscribers. Since starting my channel in July 2006, my videos have been viewed over 1.5 million times. My archived Casady School YouTube channel which has 174 videos.
- Celebrate Oklahoma Voices Project: I served as the co-Director and a lead facilitator for this statewide digital storytelling initiative, which started in the winter of 2006 as “The Oklahoma Digital Centennial Project.” Our focus in the winter of 2007/2008 and spring of 2008 was Veteran Oral History.
- Oklahoma Digital Learning Project 2007 Hawaii / USS Oklahoma Memorial Dedication Project: I helped coordinate this distributed learning initiative and shared a variety of multimedia artfacts during and after this fantastic collaboration. December 2007.
- Great Book Stories Project: I was one of the organizers of this ongoing digital storytelling project open to learners of all ages. Although participants can use any digital tools they like, most of the projects now included on the “Listen and See” page of the project wiki were created with VoiceThread.
- VoiceThread Digital Stories: I have published a variety of digital stories on VoiceThread.com, but unfortunately the site does not presently create a dynamic, linked list of digital stories by author. Other Important Experiences
Wesley is an Eagle Scout and was an AFS exchange student to New Zealand in 1987. Since 2007 Wesley traveled and presented in China four times: Twice in Shanghai, once in Hangzhou, and once in Hong Kong. Wesley has presented workshops, keynotes, and other presentations in New Zealand, The Dominican Republic, Canada, Qatar, Brazil and Egypt in addition to locations around the United States.
